The UOC MP is moving its administrative center from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the territory of the unfinished Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. It is located near the "Lybidska" metro station in Kyiv.
This was reported on Facebook by the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, public and church figure Andriy Kovalov, as reported by Novynarnya.
"They will take turns receiving clergy and laity at the vicariate of the head of the ROC (Russian Orthodox Church) in Ukraine, Onufriy Berezovsky," he said.
According to Kovalov, the leadership of the ROC explains this decision to its followers by claiming that the authorities do not allow anyone into the Lavra, and the metropolis simply cannot operate there.
Meanwhile, Onufriy's entourage is already persuading him to resume the construction of the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ against the backdrop of this "move."
"Let them finish building the cathedral. This is a godly deed. In any case, they won't take this cathedral with them to Russia," Kovalov emphasized.
