Utility Tariffs For Churches Not To Be Reduced

The National Committee for Regulation of Electric Power of Ukraine “considers it inexpedient to make proposed alterations to the procedure of calculation of retail tariff for electricity” for the needs of religious organizations.

The National Committee for Regulation of Electric Power of Ukraine “considers it inexpedient to make proposed alterations to the procedure of calculation of retail tariff for electricity” for the needs of religious organizations, reported the Institute For Religious Freedom.

This is stated in the response of the head of the committee, Serhii Titenko, to the joint address of deputies of the Christian Democratic Union party to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine containing proposals to improve the conditions for the socially significant activities of religious organizations.

The deputies proposed to make addenda to the government’s Resolution 869 of 1.06.2011 and to set for religious organizations the utility tariffs equal to those envisaged for the population.
