Representatives of various religious communities prayed for victims of WWII on 8 May, at the Yaniv Cemetery in Lviv. The remembrance action was organized by the Justice and Peace Committee of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church jointly with a youth organization Ukrainian Youth to Christ. The event was attended by representatives of the clergy of UGCC, Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, Armenian Apostolic Church, the community of Evangelical Christian Baptists Bethany, Lviv branch of the Union of Political Prisoners, Lviv City Council, youth organizations and military chaplains of UGCC. So reported the Information Department of UGCC.

Later, at 5 pm, in front of the Monument to Victims of Communist Crimes in S. Bandera Street, representatives of the clergy and the City and Regional Councils and residents of Lviv remembered the victims of WWII and Communist repressions in a minute’s silence. A prayer service was conducted and flowers laid on the monument.
