We are a people who know how to be united: the Head of the UGCC comments on war-triggered societal changes

18.01.2024, 12:20

Recent circumstances have reset the ratings of our politicians, noted His Beatitude Sviatoslav. Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces enjoy the highest trust of society.

Moreover, the dramatic circumstances have revealed the deepest intentions of human hearts. Some packed their bags and fled, some stayed and went to the front, and others began to save human lives according to their profession. This was mentioned in an interview with His Beatitude Sviatoslav for "Ukrainska Pravda," as reported by the Information Department of the UGCC.

Patriarch Sviatoslav stated that Ukrainians used to have a complex, thinking that everyone else was better than us. However, today the whole world admires our resilience and courage. "Ukrainians can do what no one else in the world can, especially when it comes to the ability to build a living space where someone is destroying it every day. We can live where someone wants to open the kingdom of death. No one else can do that!" emphasized His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

Ukrainians have also revealed a valuable trait: we are a people who know how to be united and stand in solidarity. The result of this unity is a victory on the humanitarian front, as the humanitarian crisis has not escalated into a catastrophe.

The Head of the UGCC noted that despite this, the war is not yet won. However, through cooperation and the unity of Ukrainians, we can overcome anything.
