"We warn the whole world against the temptation to appease the aggressor, as it only increases their appetite," - the Head of the UGCC

We warn the whole world against the temptation to appease the aggressor who wages war on us. For anyone who tries to do this through compromises or concessions only works up the invader's appetite. The Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, said it in his daily address on the 120th day of Russia's war against Ukraine.

"This is the diabolical way to increase your ambition by neglecting others. However, those who do not seek God will never find peace," the First Hierarch of the UGCC added.

"When Ukraine prays for peace when it defends this peace, it protects the fullness of life, protects the opportunity to live in God and with God," the Head of the UGCC said.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav has noted that despite everything, Ukraine stands, Ukraine fights. "Moreover, we feel that we can experience this morning thanks to God's presence between us and thanks to the heroism of the Ukrainian army. Therefore, we thank the Lord God and the Ukrainian soldiers for their lives," he said.

"We hear a lot about peace. Different people teach Ukrainians how to put up with their enemy. We fight for peace and defend it, teach our young people, and our children to be open to peace and reconciliation. Lord God created a person with certain aspirations. Each of us has needs and dreams, and until they come true, there will be no peace, even if one agrees to peaceful coexistence with their neighbor... No one else can give it to us except God," His Beatitude Sviatoslav believes.
