Yanukovych meets Ukrainian reigious leaders today

At 3 p.m. there will be official meeting between All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organisations and the president Yanukovych, president web page informs.

AUCCRO asked for personal meeting few days ago when protests in Ukrainian capital which last for 2 months turned violent and few people were killed by riot police.

Ukrainian leaders condemned the violence and asked state authorities and opposition to start dialogue."Today, the authorities and the opposition and civil society activists should stop violence and start negotiations. All the parties must recognize their responsibility for maintaining a unified Ukrainian state and begin a constructive dialogue to address the sociopolitical crisis. We hope that today's celebration of the reunion and liberation of Ukraine will help us find the way to reconciliation and understanding between the government and the people, between different political forces and civil society" - they said in statement issued on January 22nd. 

Protests in Kyiv last for 2 months and during this week they became violent and up to 7 people are killed, dozens arrested, many injured.
