Today, August 30, prior to the new academic year His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC arranged an online meeting with principals and teachers of catholic schools of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church acting in Ukraine.
During the meeting his Beatitude Sviatoslav drew attention to a special task set before teachers of catholic schools – education and personal upbringing of a child, which are inseparable from each other, thus it is essential to help them to become good people in the future besides becoming well-educated ones.
The Head of the Church reminded about a cooperation agreement signed between AUCCRO and MES and encouraged pedagogues to read the document.
The problem of sexual harassment has increased drastically regardless of an institution, and as His Beatitude assumes, the task is to ensure applicable ways to help children who are suffering from this kind of violence.
The Head of the Church also informed principals of catholic schools about the Center for Child Protection at UCU, which is in close cooperation of the Synod of Bishops of the Synod of Bishops. He urged principals of catholic schools to move on with the process of preventing Corona Virus from spreading. In this respect it is preferable to cooperate with UGCC Commission on Pastoral Health Care.
