An international conference was held in Berlin, Germany from 23 to 25 November 2001 on the theme: “National and Religious Identity in Eastern Europe, The Ukrainian Example.”
Participants at the conference discussed general theoretical problems of the relation between religion and the process of establishing modern nations. More concretely, the religious-civil, historical-cultural, social and political acts that were part of the formation of the Ukrainian nation were also considered.
