The 4th Kyiv International Interfaith Forum will be held in Kyiv this autumn.

This was informed by the Ukrainian MP, the Forum’s founder and initiator, Oleksandr Feldman, who is currently visiting Chambésy, Geneva, where the Synaxis – the gathering of the leaders of the local Orthodox churches – takes place.

According to his words, within the framework of the preparation to the Forum, the range of meetings with church leaders was held, and they confirmed their participation in the religious event in Ukrainian capital.

“We have met with Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople, Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus, Metropolitan Daniel (Nushiro) of All Japan, Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia,” the MP told.

“We felt the absolute support of world religious leaders, who pray for Ukraine and Ukrainian people during these difficult times,” Mr. Feldman noted.

It should be reminded that the meeting of the leaders of the local Orthodox churches takes place on Chambésy, Geneva on January 21-28. During the Synaxis, they discuss the issues of the preparation of the future Great and Holy Council of the Orthodox Church, which is planned to be held this year. The event was summoned by Patriarch Bartholomew I.

The 1st Kyiv International Interfaith Forum was held in 2011. The organizers of the forum are the Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia and the Ukrainian Jewish Committee headed by the Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman.

The Forum annually hosts the representatives of the largest confessions of Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Buddhism, as well as scientists and politicians from over 20 countries of the world.

In 2011-2013 the International Interfaith Forum took place in Kyiv. In 2014, the organizers decided to hold it in Kharkiv. During the event, the symbolic capsule was laid in the Museum of Religions in the Feldman Ecopark.
