For the first time in Japan, the X-Knowledge publishing house is publishing an illustrated book about Ukrainian wooden churches, one of the most distinctive manifestations of the culture and art of the Ukrainian people.
This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan on its Facebook page.
“The author of the book, Halyna Shevtsova, professor of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, has been conducting comparative studies of Ukrainian and Japanese wooden architecture for many years,” the statement reads.
The book will be published in Japanese. It contains the author's artistic photos and information about 129 Ukrainian wooden churches, along with detailed explanations and drawings.
