A prayer service for Ukraine took place at the Kyiv St. Sophia Cathedral

On the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska participated in the solemn event "Prayer for Ukraine," which took place at the Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv.

This was reported by the official website of the Head of State.

Representatives of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations also took part in the event, along with the presidential couple.

The chamber choir performed the composition "Our Father." After its conclusion, short prayers for Ukraine were recited, followed by speeches from the heads of churches and leaders of religious organizations.

Volodymyr Zelensky extended his appreciation to the clergy for their prayers and messages of encouragement.

"As we celebrate Ukraine's Independence Day, I extend my congratulations to all. Let us all aspire to victory," remarked the Head of State, addressing the attendees.

The prayer concluded with the rendition of Ukraine's spiritual anthem, "God Great and One."
