The spokesman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Moscow Patriarchate, Archpriest Mykola Danylevych said it in a comment to ZIK television channel on December 13.
“We, as the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, officially do not arrange and will not arrange any provocations on Saturday, unlike the Security Service of Ukraine stated, and on other days. No protests against the Tomos. I know only about one initiative: tomorrow the parishioners of our Church are willing to gather at 10:00 for a peaceful prayer stand and thus express their disagreement with the interference of the authorities in the affairs of the Church. Not against the Tomos, not against autocephaly, but against the intervention of the state in the affairs of the Church - and they have a right to this,” said Danylevych.
According to him, the religious rally is neither a provocation nor disturbance.
The speaker of the Church expressed an opinion that the purpose of the SBU is to put pressure on the UOC-MP or impose some restrictions.
On December 13, the SBU announced that on the eve of the unification council and in the course of the creation of a Ukrainian local Orthodox Church the provocations were planned.
