Religious figures expressed outrage over the decision of the State Film Agency of Ukraine to finance a film aimed at promoting same-sex relationships and containing elements of blasphemy at the expense of taxpayers. The AUCCRO expects the reaction of the state leadership to this incident in order to "stop state funding for this shameful project", the Secretariat of the AUCCRO noted.
The AUCCRO Secretariat also discussed the issues of vaccination and quarantine related to the introduction of the “red zone” state of the COVID-19 pandemic in most regions of Ukraine.
Earlier, the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations confirmed that vaccination is not prohibited by canonical norms, and is the most effective tool in the fight against coronavirus, according to experts: "immunization is a path to public health proven by more than a century of human experience."
At the same time, the AUCCRO stressed: "We also appeal to the competent state authorities to, first of all, ensure voluntariness in the issue of vaccination and not create conditions of open or hidden coercion, thereby violating natural human rights."
Religious figures believe that explanatory work on the part of representatives of the Ministry of Health and other officials responsible for checking medical products for effectiveness and safety is important.
In addition, the AUCCRO Secretariat analyzed the results of the government's decision to supply natural gas to religious organizations at a fixed price through Naftogaz Trading as well as requirements for installing expensive gas meters with the remote data transmission system. Religious figures have identified a number of problematic issues in this area that need to be addressed.
