Almost all the priests and monks of the Russian Orthodox Church have left the districts of the Kursk region the Ukrainian Armed Forces took under control

In a report addressed to Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev) of Moscow, dated August 12, Metropolitan Herman (Moralin) of Kursk and Rylsk stated that all 12 priests had left the Suzhansky district of the Kursk region.

This was reported by the Telegram channel Christians Against War.

Also, the abbot and 14 brothers left the Gornalsky Monastery. Only Hieromonk Simeon (Borukha), rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the village of Guevo, Suzhansky district, remained. As of now, “there is no communication with him.”

Additionally, the head of the Kursk Metropolitanate said that “32 priests left Korenovsky, Rylsky, Belovsky, Glushkovsky, and Velikosoldatsky districts.”

Some of the clergy remained in Korenevsky and Glushkovsky districts, as their parishes are located in the Moscow-controlled territory.
