The Institute of Religion and Society of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) invites students and young scholars to participate in the 16th Ukrainian national conference “Painful Traumas of the Past: Historical Truth and Imperatives of Conscience,” which will be held on April 12-13, 2013.
This year’s topic is devoted to the history of conflicts and overcoming them. What historical examples can serve as a model to overcome interethnic, interreligious, interstate conflicts? How does the church use historical experience in its development? What methods and models of positive future existence can representatives of humanities and social sciences offer?
“For us it is important to hear the views of young scholars and students in this area, share experiences, and work out a common vision of these problems,” say the organizers of the conference.
A competition will be held for the most interesting report on the subject. The deadline for sending in reports is March 20.
The conference will be held at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv at 17 Sventsitskoho Street.
