For the third time, the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv hosts advanced training courses for military chaplains of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time, 29 chaplains will undergo specialized training at the Chaplaincy Training Center of the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University.

This information was reported by the Armyinform website.

"It is a challenging choice for a priest to join the ranks of the Armed Forces, especially in times of war, as you have a special mission. The Ukrainian army is doing everything on the battlefield to liberate our state from the aggressor, primarily thanks to the strength of the Ukrainian spirit. It is very important to have people who will strengthen this spirit and help soldiers endure. Your task is to be everything to them: a psychologist, a friend, a chaplain. Continually find reserves within yourselves and provide the necessary support to servicemen. Your work is part of our future victory," emphasized Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar.

Addressing those present at the commencement ceremony, Brigadier General Anatoliy Shevchenko, the Chief of the Military Institute, welcomed them.

"Last year, we initiated the idea of having military chaplains trained at our Military Institute. As someone with extensive combat experience, I can assure you that clergymen provide invaluable support on the battlefield. During intense combat operations, everyone turns to prayer. I thank you for finding the strength and calling to become military chaplains and for coming to us for training. Such gatherings are, first and foremost, an exchange of experiences. We strive to consider all the needs and wishes of chaplains to improve the training of future representatives," noted Anatoliy Shevchenko.

Representatives of various religious organizations also delivered their words of encouragement.

"I wish you success in your training because this knowledge will be essential for you on the battlefield. Strive for excellence in your skills and abilities," said Metropolitan Ioan, the Head of the Synodal Department of Military Chaplaincy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Representative of the Religious Center "Union of Messianic Judaism Jewish Communities" Oleksiy Denysov wished the military chaplains to be a source of support for our soldiers and help them find love for God.

"Now, more than ever, our soldiers need spiritual support. Chaplains are the pillars they will turn to. Chaplaincy is a commitment that goes far beyond regular service. Few know that a chaplain hears and sees the secrets he must keep, the fears he encounters, and the concerns he shares with the soldiers... In the lulls between battles, we teach soldiers to love God and their neighbors, emphasizing the importance of preserving their own dignity. We are very grateful that you have taken on this noble duty. May the military chaplaincy training course provide you with the necessary knowledge and fill you with divine wisdom," conveyed the clergyman Oleksiy Denysov.

To conclude the event, those present engaged in a joint prayer.
