Ukrainian military chaplains of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully completed a training course at one of the US training bases in Germany.

This was reported by the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the training, the chaplains got acquainted with the procedure for conducting field ministry, planning religious support, the basics of crisis counseling and working with moral trauma.

“The value of this training course for me personally lies in communication. The opportunity to tell my own story of serving the wounded. I am a chaplain at a military hospital. My ministry is different from serving in combat conditions, so it was important for me to hear the experience of US chaplains, especially hospital chaplains. The level of communication, hospitality and truly family-like atmosphere that the US chaplains created for us made me feel like a part of the global chaplaincy. At the same time, in this short time I was able to gain knowledge and ideas that I will implement in my ministry in Ukraine. Hospital chaplaincy is a bridge between all countries as we all strive to serve those who are in need or physically broken. This is what inspires me in this ministry,” said military chaplain Fr. Pavlo Sosnytsky.

The chaplains received certificates and knowledge that will become a powerful resource for their further activities, especially in difficult conditions of combat operations.

In addition, the military chaplains met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Germany Oleksiy Makeev, who was visiting the Joint Multinational Training Group.
