Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain announced that the Archdiocese, which makes part of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, has initiated the process of establishing additional Ukrainian Orthodox parishes throughout the United Kingdom.

As it was reported by OrthodoxTime, now Fr. Myroslav Pushkaruk, a clergyman of the Archdiocese, performs services at the Archdiocesan Chapel of the Annunciation (5 Craven Hill, W2 3EN) on Sunday morning at 10:00, and also travels around the United Kingdom, offering spiritual, pastoral, and material support to Ukrainian Orthodox believers.

Details about the new parishes will be announced soon.

According to the Archdiocese, each Ukrainian Orthodox parish will retain its identity, customs, language, calendar and traditions, while being part of the culturally diverse family of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the local Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain.

"As the Archdiocese of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Mother Church of Constantinople and the Mother Church of Kyivan Rus, which recently granted autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, we will continue to support and help, as well as increase pastoral service for Orthodox Ukrainians who are residents of the United Kingdom," the Archdiocese stressed.
