AUCCRO holds its meeting in ATO zone

On November 2, Sarmat military base in Kramatorsk of Donetsk region hosted a meeting of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations.

On November 2, Sarmat military base in Kramatorsk of Donetsk region hosted a meeting of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations.

Following the meeting, the Appeal on the consolidation of peace and progress of the Ukrainian society was adopted.

Prior to the meeting, a joint prayer for Ukraine was held, which was attended by Chair of the Security Service Vasyl Hrytsak, and the SUU Joint Staff HQ officers in the ATO zone, according to IRress.

Hrytsak thanked the participants for holding the 25th anniversary meeting “out of warm premises but among the military that defend Ukraine.”

“I am sure that you all return home with light feelings as an opportunity to look into the eyes frontline soldiers and pray for them,” he said.

Patriarch Filaret of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine (UOC-KP) said: “Our soldiers must feel that all religions are united in their support and help them spiritually and materially.”

Church Patriarch Sviatoslav said: “Each soldier must have trust that the church is with him, and the peaceful life is waiting for him at home.”

The Primate of the UOC Moscow Patriarchate did not participate in the meeting.

UOC-MP was represented by Archbishop Augustine (Markevych) - Chair of the Synodal Department for Relations with the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine. He is kwnown to have been in charge of the cooperation with the Armed Forces for nearly 15 years and has been awarded the Russian Order of Friendship (2003) and the Order of Honor (2012).
