“One of the greatest religious holidays– the Easter- is coming. This holiday is associated with the accumulation of a large number of people in temples and the massive use of open fire, in particular candles, in religious buildings. That is why throughout the territory of Ukraine, the staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out a series of measures aimed at ensuring fire and technological safety in the churches, as well as measures to prevent the extraordinary events in temples during worship,” the report says.


Thus, during this week, the professionals of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have visited religious sites of Luhansk, Volyn, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Khmelnytsky, Kherson and Zhytomyr regions. First of all, the rescuers are carrying out inspections of the fire safety of the premises. During the raids, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine employees pay special attention to the availability of fire extinguishers, evacuation routes for parishioners, fire water supply and signaling, signs of fire safety, the maintenance of electrical equipment and heating equipment.


Similar measures will continue until Easter holidays.
