Bishop Bronislav becomes new Chairman of the Conference of Roman-Catholic Bishops in Ukraine

During the 51st meeting of the Conference of the Roman Catholic Bishops in Ukraine, which was taking place in Bryukhovychi, Lviv region, from November 30 to December 1, a new chairman of the Conference was elected.

This is reported by the Catholic Media Center. For the next five years, Bishop Bronislav Bernatsky, the Ordinary of the Odesa-Simferopol Diocese became chairman of the Conference of Roman Catholic Bishops in Ukraine. Metropolitan of Lviv Archbishop Mieczysław Mokrzycki was elected the first deputy.

The hierarchs also approved the Appeal to the faithful on marking the year 2019 as the year of marriage and family. The Pastoral letter on the occasion of the holiday of the Holy Family was approved on December 30, 2018, which discussed the details of the Congress of Families, which will take place from September 20 to 22, 2019 in Sharhorod and Vinnytsia, and the forms of liturgical experience of the Year of the Family.

The 52nd plenary session of the Conference of Roman Catholic Bishops in Ukraine is scheduled for March 26-28, 2018 in Lviv.
