Canadians to train Ukrainian military chaplains in Lviv

Throughout two weeks representative of all denominations who are members of the Council for pastoral care at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will discuss problems that the chaplains are facing in the armed forces, and will study foreign experience of clerical service in the armed forces. Representatives of Royal Canadian Chaplains Services are to read lectures to the priests. This was reported by Lviv military university to Day newspaper.

24 priests have enrolled for training, including Christians – representatives of the Orthodox denominations, Greek and Roman Catholics, Evangelical Christians - Baptists,  Pentecostals, evangelists, and even imam chaplains.

“The venue for first chaplains’ training was selected not by chance,” the Academy says, adding that it was here in Lviv that a decade ago the cooperation of clergymen with the Armed Forces began.

After completion of training, the priests will share experience gained during the training with denominations they represent.
