Roman Catholic bishops from Ukraine, Radoslav Zmitrovych and Oleksandr Yazlovetskiy, presented the flag of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Chorni Zaporozhtsi" to Pope Francis on the evening of October 10th.

As reported by CREDO, the flag was handed over to Bishop Radoslav Zmitrovich by a soldier serving in this brigade, who requested that it be presented to the Pope.

On the flag, the soldiers had written a plea for prayer: "Holy Father, pray for us. With faith and love."

Pope Francis expressed his gratitude for the flag and assured them of his prayers.

It's worth noting that Bishop Oleksandr Yazlovetskiy and Radoslav Zmitrovich are participating in the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the theme "For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission," taking place in the Vatican.
