Chanel used the melody of the Ukrainian “Shchedryk” in its Christmas commercial.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Vogue.ua.

The video is dedicated to Chanel's new makeup collection, and the music background is the legendary “Shchedryk” by Mykola Leontovych. The whole world knows the melody called Carol of the Bells, which is a true symbol of Christmas.

In the fairy-tale video, the heroine (top model Vittoria Ceretti) is waiting for the first snow. The magic works, and a snowflake gently falls onto her palm. Soon everything turns white and sparkles, giving joy and a sense of wonder.

It should be noted that on December 13, 2024, the world will celebrate the 147th anniversary of the birth of Mykola Leontovych, one of the greatest composers of the twentieth century. In January 1921, he was killed by a Bolshevik agent.
