Children of IDPs attend Adventist program Country of Health

On October 11, at the residence of the former Ukrainian president in Mezhyhirya, the officers of Adventist Development and Relief Agency in Ukraine (ADRA) together with the students of Ukrainian Humanitarian Institute (UHI) held an entertaining and informative game ‘Country of Health’ for the IDP children from Donbas.

On October 11, at the residence of the former Ukrainian president in Mezhyhirya, the officers of Adventist Development and Relief Agency in Ukraine (ADRA) together with the students of Ukrainian Humanitarian Institute (UHI) held an entertaining and informative game ‘Country of Health’ for the IDP children from Donbas.

Some 350 children in the form of a game learned about the principles of a healthy lifestyle. The Ukrainian organization on rights of internally displaced persons contributed to drawing up the participants list. It was reported by the News Service of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ukraine.

During the program the children were divided into small groups led by UHI students. The guys made eight stages of the “Country of Health’” in turn, at which where coaches talked about health principles, such as the sun, air, water, proper nutrition, exercise, rest, abstinence from all harmful and trust to God.

Also the displaced children participated in more than ten kinds of sports and entertaining games. Children have been provided with healthy hot meals and medical care.

This is the second ‘Country of Health’ this year, which was held in Mezhyhirya by Adventists. The event was held under the charity project of ADRA Ukraine and the Czech Republic and was sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Due to this project the centers where IDPs live, have received washers, clothes, humanitarian assistance, heaters and blankets.
