Church Blast in Feodosia

On 20 October, at approximately 7 p.m., a blast occurred in the Church of All Saints in the Crimean town of Feodosia.

O n October 20, at approximately 7 p.m., a blast occurred in the Church of All Saints in the Crimean town of Feodosia. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the greatest damage was done to an extension used as a hotel for pilgrims, reports TSN.

According to preliminary information, the blast was caused by a malfunction of a gas cylinder. There are no victims and no one was hurt.

The Council of Otamans [Editor: Cossack chiefs] of the Crimea will demand that a thorough investigation of the event is conducted beyond the domestic explanation of the blast, stated Otaman Serhii Yurchenko. 

Field engineers and police worked at the site for the whole night. Windows were broken in the adjacent buildings.

The church was built in the 19th century. Under the Soviet Regime it was closed and later blown up.

A spiritual school, museum, children’s theater, and other associations are attached to the church.
