Council of the UAOC Greets Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada

The Hierarchical Council of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, which was held on July 16, 2010, in Kyiv, greeted the participants and organizers of the 22nd Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada.

KYIV – The Hierarchical Council of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, which was held on July 16, 2010, in Kyiv, greeted the participants and organizers of the 22nd Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada.

“Today, the whole fullness of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church headed by His Grace Blessed Mefodii, the head of the UAOC, the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, right reverend archbishops and bishops, several thousand priests, deacons, and monks, and millions of believers of Ukraine sincerely greet the Orthodox Ukrainians gathered these days in the God-saved city of Winnipeg, who are kin to them by flash and spirit.. Let all the decisions be passed by your council according to God’s Providence, continue to promote strengthening of the Holy Orthodox Church, establishment of our ancient ancestral ideas and beliefs. We believe that very soon full canonic unity will reign between our churches and even at the regular local council of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church or the 23rd Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church the hierarchs of our sister churches will have opportunity to mutually present and to concelebrate,” reads the address.

Representatives of the UAOC also expressed greetings to the new head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada who is to be elected at the council.
