On 23 December, a n extraordinary session of the Hierarchical Council of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church was held under the headship of Metropolitan Mefodii in Kyiv.

According to  uaoc.net, “the key subject of the hierarchical Council was the discussion of issues which have arisen in connection with the latest actions of the leadership of UOC-Kyivan Patriarchate, including their public statements against the head and bishops of UAOC.”

Bishop Adrian of Khmelnytsk and Kamianets-Podilsk commented to uaoc.net in this regard: “Our flock and clergy have free access to their bishops, constantly communicate with them, therefore, there is no urgent need to make globally public all the decisions of the Council. Believe me, our bishops do not conceal any necessary information from the lay people.”
