Reconizing as invalid the documents of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate will urge its head, Patriarch Emeritus Filaret to commit further provocations against the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Reconizing as invalid the documents of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate will urge its head, Patriarch Emeritus Filaret to commit further provocations against the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

A religious expert, Director of the Center for Religious Security Dmytro Horyevoy said it in his comment to UNN.

“Bishop Filaret will continue to commit such acts of provocation, expecting Metropolitan Epifaniy to make a mistake and thus give grounds to blame him for violation of the canons and the Charter [of the OCU - ed.]. Thus he will be able to raise the issue of the latter’s dismissal. He will continue provoking Epifaniy to respond and will try to catch him out on some kind of mistake,” said Horyevoy.

According to him, on its part, the OCU, recognizing invalid any documents of the UOC-KP, has once again, now officially, asserted the “obvious things”.

“This step will not disarm Filaret, but, on the contrary, it will encourage him, so one can expect further provocation on his part. He will continue doing all this, and most likely he will succeed in consecrating someone as a bishop, that is, he will make a deliberately provocative step to increase the number of his adherents,” added the religious expert.

As reported, Metropolitan Epifaniy issued a decree, recognizing invalid any documents and orders issued on behalf of the religious association of the UOC-KP.
