UGCC representatives take part in the consecration of the altar of the restored Notre Dame Cathedral

On December 7, in the presence of heads and representatives of various states, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Bishop Laurent Ulric, Archbishop of Paris, inaugurated the main shrine of Paris, Notre Dame Cathedral.
On Sunday, December 8, the altar of the restored cathedral was consecrated. Numerous clergy from all over the world, including Bishop Hlib Lonchyna and Metropolitan Borys Gudziak, gathered to celebrate the Eucharistic sacrifice after the restoration of the church.
These events were attended by representatives of each parish of the Catholic Church in Paris, including representatives of St. Volodymyr the Great Cathedral of the UGCC.
According to the report, during the meetings and conversations, the French people and the French Church expressed great support for Ukraine.
In 2019, a fire broke out in the Notre Dame Cathedral. Its spire collapsed, and the building was badly damaged. Repair works to restore the church lasted for several years.
