A delegation of the Orthodox Church of Greece led by Metropolitan Joel of Edessa arrived in Sviatohirska [Holy Mount] Monastery of the Holy Assumption on 17 January.
A delegation of the Orthodox Church of Greece led by Metropolitan Joel of Edessa arrived in Sviatohirska [Holy Mount] Monastery of the Holy Assumption on 17 January.
According to the website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), the members of the delegation were met by the Superior of the monastery, Archbishop Arsenii with the brethren. Metropolitan Joel presented to the monastery a cross with fragments of relics of saints and an icon of the Holy Virgin from Athos.
The program of stay of the delegation includes familiarization with the history and shrines of the monastery and participation in the Theophany Service.
