Delegation of the Kyiv Theological Schools of UOC-MP Participates in Slavonic Fellowship International Student Camp

On June 15, 2010, the international camp of the student activists group Slavonic Fellowship 2010 began its work.

On June 15, 2010, the international camp of the student activists group Slavonic Fellowship 2010 began its work. This year the camp is held at the Gamma recreational complex (Russia, Krasnodar area, Tuapse region, village of Olginka), reports the website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate.

The camp organizers are the administration of the Kursk region and the Committee for Youth and Tourism of the Kursk region with assistance of the executive office of the plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation at the Central Federal district, of the Ministry of Sport, Tourism, and Youth Politics of the Russian Federation, and the Education Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The purpose of the camp is to provide opportunities for students to discuss issues of development of the student movement, to define mechanisms of interaction between theological schools and secular education establishments, to consolidate efforts on carrying out specific projects and programs with a view to preserve and multiply the best traditions of the student community.

This year taking part in the work of the camp are 520 people, representing 16 countries, 52 regions of the Russian Federation, more than 50 higher education establishments, and 9 theological academies and seminaries.

With the blessing of rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary Archbishop Anthonii of Boryspil, a delegation of the Kyiv Theological Schools led by assistant to the rector for academic research work associate professor Volodymyr Burega took part in the camp. The students of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary will make their reports at the forum and make presentation of the magazine Academic Chronicler and of the Student Scholar Society of the KTA&S.

On June 16, on the first day of work of the international camp of the student core group Slavonic Community 2010, the first plenary session of the International Youth Congress "Spirituality as a Foundation of Unity and Development" was conducted at the conference hall of the Gamma recreational complex.

The greetings at the address of the congress were sent by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal district Poltavchenko G.S., and President of the Republic of Abkhazia Bagapsh S.V.
