Divine Liturgy in the Ukrainian language served for the first time in UAE

Ukrainians in the UAE attended the first Urainian Liturgy in the history of this  country. This was reported to Ukrinform at  the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE.

On December 19, this year in the church of St. Mary (Dubai), the first Byzantine rite Liturgy in the history of the country was celebrated in Ukrainian and English.  

Father George Yurchyk, chaplain of the Ukrainian community in the UAE of the Apostolic Vicariate of South Arabia, and Father Michael O'Sullivan, a priest of the Apostolic Vicariate of South Arabia celebrated the liturgy,” goes the report.

Upon completion of the liturgy a festive evening for children of Ukrainian community in the UAE with gifts in honor of St. Nicholas was held. The event took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE, whose members also took part in it.

During the worship the Ukrainians of the  UAE, prayed for peace, unity, integrity of Ukraine and health of its soldiers."From now on the Ukrainian worship service in the UAE will be regularly celebrated that will foster the spiritual unity of Ukrainians living in this country,” the Ukrainian diplomatic mission emphasized, according to the Information Department of the UGCC.
