Doctors are satisfied with Patriarch Filaret’s health condition after the surgery

The Patriarch of the UOC KP feels good after a cardiac surgery performed in a hospital in Vienne. The health of the Primate of the UOC-Kyiv Patriarchate does not raise doctors’ concerns. It is expected that by the end of the week he will return to Ukraine.

As reported by the official website of the UOC-KP, Patriarch Filaret is active even in the hospital. On March 18, he received, among others, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Austria Alexander Shcherba, and First Secretary of Embassy Pavlo Kravchenko.

The meeting was attended by Professor Igor Huk - a doctor who carried out surgery on the Primate, the world famous transplantsurgeon, MD, a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences (2000); Head of Department for External Church Relations Archbishop Ilarion of Rivne and Ostroh and rector of the Church of the Nativity in Podol district, DECR Deputy Chairman Archpriest Mykola Salabai.

Note that on March 16, 2015 Patriarch Filaretwas successfully made stent implantation surgery in one of the leading clinics in Vienna (Austria).

Stenting is the procedure to install a specially designed constriction in a vessel (stent) produced in the form of a flexible frame. The stent enables the increased blood flow in the vessels narrowed by their extension.
