The procession followed from the city council to Festivalna Square, the participants welcomed the citizens shouting “Christ is risen!” and passers-by answered “Truly He is risen!” The religious songs were sang, the procession participants praised Resurrection. All those willing joined the procession, and after its completion on Festivalna Square, in front of the regional administration, leaders of churches spoke, following which a performance took place.
Bishop Stepan Exarch of Donetsk of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Bishop Ian Sobilo of Kharkiv and Zaporizhia Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, Bishop Fotiy of Zaporizhia and Melitopol of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, rector of the Armenian Apostolic Church Community Father Yusik and leaders of Protestant churches talked about the importance and Easter grandeur, the great hope that it gives.
MP of Ukraine, coordinator of the National Prayer Breakfast and public activist Pavlo Unguryan spoke about the Parliament’s work on legislative embodiment of Christian values.
Director of the Department of culture, tourism, religions and nationalities of Zaporizhsa Regional State Administration Vladislav Moroko said that for over three years the religious denominations had been holding joint actions that strengthened the unity of Ukraine.
During the concert, prepared by various church communities, the spiritual contemporary songs were performed, biblical scenes displayed.
