The Kyiv Economic Court has ruled to ensure the normal operation of the commission for the acceptance-transfer of state property of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra until the substantive consideration of the main claim to terminate the lease agreement of the Lavra premises with the UOC MP.

This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Oleksandr Tkachenko, during an informational telethon, as reported by UNIAN.

"We have a decision from the Kyiv Economic Court to secure the claim. One of our demands has been satisfied, which is that no one impedes the work of the ministry until the court's decision becomes legally binding and until the consideration of the main claim of the reserve. So, I think that from now on there will be no excesses during the commission's work," he said.

According to him, as of today, there is an "ongoing dialogue" between the commission and representatives of the UOC MP in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

"We see signs of a more civilized approach by representatives of the monastery towards the commission's work. I believe that this will speed up its work and ultimately lead to the state once again managing the reserve in accordance with the law," he said.
