Last Saturday, defenders of the historic Kyiv dismantled the temporary construction fence in the Tithe Lane.  UNIAN reported with reference to the Kyiv City organization “Civil position” that the action against the illegal construction in the place of the historic and cultural monument was attended by its active members and reps of other political parties and public organizations of Kyiv. A lawyer Marina Soloviova said, “Thus, any works in the territory of the land plot or fencing of the territory are illegal.”

The security guards began to put water and spray tear gas onto some active participants who came close to the fence. The indignant people stormed the site and dismantled nearly all the sections of the fence.

The entrances to the site are again blocked with tents of the political parties Civil Position and UDAR. The site is patrolled by the police, security guards of the developer and active members of Civil Position who have stayed in the tent since 18 January.
