The flooded Holy Transfiguration Church in the former village Husyntsi near the town  Rzhyshchiv in the Kyiv Oblast will be connected with the left bank of Dnipro river with the bridge.

"The village Husyntsi was flooded in 1976 during the construction of the Kaniv hydroelectric station. For 13 years the church was not functioning. And then the former villagers decided to gather near the church on the feast of Intercession of the Theotokos. Now the church has a rector who is engaged in its restoration," said historian and tour guide Oleg Predachenko.

The church was built in 1822 and restoration started last year.  Domes are already restored; now builders are working on the exterior. In the spring builders also started to build the bell tower, which was destroyed during the Second World War.
