President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the massive attack by the Russian Federation on Christmas Day. According to the President, the occupiers fired more than 70 missiles at Ukraine.

This was reported by Glavkom.

“Every Russian massive strike takes time to prepare. It is never a spontaneous decision. It is a conscious choice of targets, time, and date. Today, Putin deliberately chose Christmas to attack. What could be more inhuman? More than 70 missiles, including ballistic missiles, and more than a hundred attack drones. The target - our energy infrastructure. Russia keeps trying to cause a blackout in Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

The president noted that according to preliminary data, Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy more than 50 missiles and a significant number of drones.

“Unfortunately, some missiles and drones reached their targets. As of now, there are power outages in several regions. Power engineers are working to restore power as soon as possible. I am grateful to everyone who is working for the country, who is on combat duty, who is protecting our sky. We will restore as much as we can. The Russian evil will not break Ukraine and will not ruin Christmas,” the President of Ukraine added.

Russian troops are once again massively attacking the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Due to the massive missile attacks on Ukraine, Ukrenergo has introduced emergency power outages.

In particular, the occupiers struck at DTEK thermal power plants. The Russian attack severely damaged power equipment.

As reported, one of the two power lines connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP to the unified energy system of Ukraine was once again disconnected due to enemy shelling.
