Fundraising for the Jews of Ukraine started in Britain
On the eve of Pesach an assistance program for Jews of Ukraine was launched in London, organized by World Jewish Relief (WJR), as reported by British newspaper Achievements
Members of the British Jewish community are encouraged to make one of three types of donations for refugees from Donetsk and Luhansk.
WJR representatives explain that a donation of 18 pounds will help to pay for participation of 6 people in a one-day seminar on the acquisition of skills for job search, 48 pounds will help provide psychological assistance to three victims in the hostilities, and 112 pounds will enable two people to take part in the 10-day seminar on job search.
More than one million people were forced to leave their homes because of the fighting,” says executive director of the World Jewish Relief Paul Antikoni. “Thousands of Jews were injured. The country faced a humanitarian crisis that urgently needs global attention, but does not receive it. We can and must do more.” This was reported by UNIAN religion.
