"ROC is being 'torn apart' in Ukraine," - Putin at final press conference
This was reported by Russian media.
Speaking about the state of religious affairs in Ukraine, the dictator complained about the “persecution” of the Moscow Patriarchate.
“The Russian Orthodox Church is being “torn apart” in Ukraine, but the world prefers not to notice it,” Putin said.
By the "ROC", he apparently meant the UOC-MP, whose clergy call their denomination “independent” at every opportunity and take offence when they are reproached for being an integral part of the Russian Church.
According to the Russian media, Putin also said that the Ukrainian leadership “has not been seen in a synagogue, a church, or a mosque.”
“These are people without kith or kin,” said the Russian dictator, who has been issued an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court in The Hague for the abduction of Ukrainian children.
