At the St. George Cathedral in Manhattan, New York, a Christmas fair was organized to gather funds for drones intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, the event showcased various artistic crafts, including pottery, weaving, and painting, presented by American Ukrainians for sale.
Halyna Shipko, the granddaughter of the renowned Ukrainian monumental artist Mykhailo Boychuk and a resident of New York State, demonstrated the art of weaving at the fair.
Dmytro Topchiy, the Executive Director of Liberty Ukraine Foundation, commented to Ukrinform that the event was successful, estimating the collection of funds for 6-10 drones to be promptly sent to the front lines.
The foundation, specializing in supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has already dispatched a total of 1700 drones to Ukrainian soldiers.
Topchiy mentioned that this event was the first to exhibit drone models earmarked for purchase and transfer to Ukraine. "We displayed two types of UAVs, ensuring both fair attendees and visitors understood precisely how their contributions would be utilized," he explained.
