Government returns the property of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra to the state

On March 30, the Cabinet of Ministers invalidated the order on the free use of the property of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra by the UOC-MP and thus returned it to state control.

This was stated by Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.

The government declared invalid the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of the Yanukovych era of July 11, 2013. No. 519 "The issue of transferring buildings and facilities for free use to the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church".

According to legal decisions, the management of Lavra's property was transferred to the state because it is the state that owns these facilities."
