The Greek Orthodox Church has launched the procedure to recognize the one Local Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The Greek Orthodox Church has launched the procedure to recognize the one Local Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The respective decision was made at the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church, Ukrinforms reports citing Ortodoxia Info.

It is noted that the meeting discussed the letter of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in connection with the election of the first Primate of the new autocephalous Church of Ukraine, as well as the corresponding letter of the Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church. The priests decided to hand over the case to the Holy Synod of the Greek Ortohodox Church concerning the recognition of the new autocephalous Church in Ukraine by the Greek Church.
