MP Victor Yelensky, who heads the official delegation of Ukraine to the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, during a protest action against the arrival of the Russian delegation to the IAO, said that Russia had ruined the Orthodox solidarity.
It was reported by Cerkvarium citing the Georgian TV channel "Rustavi 2".
Victor Yelensky stressed that there can be no Orthodox solidarity when one Orthodox country – Russia -- occupies such Orthodox countries as Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The parliamentarian also noted that the representatives of the Russian delegation are "toxic", that is why their presence in the Parliament of Georgia caused such a strong reaction of politicians and the public. As it has been reported, today, in the morning, members of the opposition factions of the Georgian Parliament blocked the rostrum, as the head of the Russian delegation, Sergey Gavrilov, was to take the place of the Speaker of Parliament, starting the work of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy.
