KYIV – Heads of the Christian Churches of Ukraine forwarded greeting addresses to Hanna Yudkivska, who is to enter the post of the judge of the European Human Rights Court, reports the Institute of Religious Freedom.

“Let the Wisdom of God and prudence accompany you at all times in your important activity in the post of the judge of the European Court on Human Rights,” says the address.

The heads of the churches expressed a number of wishes: “We hope that your work will significantly contribute to the establishment of the law, order, justice, and respect for human rights and the cause to observe in Ukraine and other European countries the freedom of thought, worship, and confession guaranteed by Articles 9 and 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.”

The heads of the Ukrainian Churches stressed the importance of spirituality and the religious component in the development of the state in view of the decision of the European Court regarding the prohibition of religious symbols in the Italian schools.
