On November 27, the local community and friends of Ukraine came to the annual memorial service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. Metropolitan Borys Gudziak (UGCC), Archbishop Daniel (UOC in the United States) and Bishop Pavlo Khomnitsky (UGCC) conducted a prayer service for Ukrainians who were exhausted by hunger.

On behalf of the Ukrainian President, the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova expressed gratitude to all those present who came despite the pandemic to remember the tragedy.

A special statement was also made by US President Joe Biden. "This month, as we remember those whose lives were taken away, let us also take up our tireless work to prevent similar tragedies in the future and to help those who are suffering in the yoke of tyranny today."
