International Evangelical Conference Held in Donetsk

Over 50 theologians and teachers from Armenia, Moldova, Russia, the USA, Uzbekistan and Ukraine took part in a conference entitled "Eurasian Evangelical Theology on the Edge of the Millenium" which was held in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk from June 7 to 9, 2001.

Radiotserkov reports that representatives of the following Evangelical denominations participated: Baptists, Pentecostals, Seventh-Day Adventists, Lutherans, Evangelical Christians and Charismatics. The goal of the conference was to give professionals an opportunity to meet, share their experiences and analyze the status of theology today. Participants emphasized the necessity of promoting the study of theology as an scholarly discipline. The conference concluded with the creation of a Eurasian Theological Society to unite professionals and those interested in the development of Christian education and Evangelical theology in their native lands.
