On October 9-10, 2014, the Theology Department of the Ukrainian Catholic University will hold the international theological conference "The Knowledge of God: East and West - Dogmatic and Spiritual Dimensions."
Participants of the theological forum will discuss:
• the nature of the knowledge of God in Western and Eastern Christian traditions through the prism of patristic thought and ascetic practice;
• modern interpretations of patristic theology and spiritual experience of Church Fathers (early, medieval, and contemporary Church);
• shared and distinctive features of the Western and Eastern approaches to understanding the connection between academic theology and spirituality.
Among the speakers: Kallistos Ware, Metropolitan of Diokleia, the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Prof. Theresia Hainthaler, Sankt Georgen Graduate School of Philosophy and Theology, Germany, Rev. Prof. John Panteleimon Manoussakis, College of the Holy Cross, USA.
