Israeli Diplomats Learn about Jewish Life in Ukraine from Chief Rabbi of Dnipropetrovsk
Chief Rabbi of Dnipropetrovsk and the Dnipropetrovsk region Shmuel Kaminetsky met with representatives of the Israeli liaison organization Nativ.
As reports the website of the Dnipropetrovsk Jewish community, during the meeting current issues of Jewish revival and the future of strengthening ties between Jews in the diaspora and the State of Israel were discussed. The guests were very impressed by the world's largest Jewish center, Menorah, and the scope of the Jewish revival in Dnipropetrovsk.
The Israeli guests subsequently learned about the development of the infrastructure of the Jewish community, paying primary attention to sites of Jewish education. In particular, they visited the Jewish school, learned about its history, opportunities, and prospects, and discussed with the school administration issues of cooperation within the framework of Jewish identity.
The guests also visited the Beit Tzindlikht Children's Preschool Educational Center and the Beit Hana International Humanitarian Pedagogical Institute. They were impressed by the museum Memory of the Jewish People and the Holocaust in Ukraine and the educational activities of the Tkuma Institute of the Ukrainian Holocaust.
